Man’s Post About Fiance Being Told To Cover Up Goes Viral
Tori Jenkins’ fiance Tyler Newman was shocked when she was told to change out of her one-piece pink swimming costume at a local pool in Knoxville USA.
His post on Facebook has quickly gone viral.
“I have never really witnessed sexual harassment and/or ‘rape culture’ until today with Smoky Crossing Apartments. Tori was accused of wearing a ‘thong bathing suit’ and told there were complaints about the way she was dressed after roughly 3 minutes tops, of us arriving there,” he said on the post.
He also attached photos of his fiance’s costume which was not at all inappropriate, and was just a regular costume that anybody would wear.
When the two went to the management to ask why she was being told to cover up, someone told her that a normal bathing suit covers your entire butt, and forced her to look in the mirror.
She was also told that her because her body is more curvy than others, that it was inappropriate for children to be around, and that there were too many teenage boys in the complex, whom she shouldn’t ‘excite’.
Their apartment complex, Smoky Crossing Apartments, has said that Newman had dramatised the event.
“We feel it is inappropriate to equate requesting Ms. Jenkins to cover up with sexual harassment or ‘rape culture’. Smoky Crossing denounces harassment in all forms,” it said.
“I’m a size medium. The swimsuit is a size medium,” said Jenkins.
It is high time we stop slut shaming women for their choices.
